The 9th folkBALTICA festival is now history. A massive round of thanks!
The 9th folkBALTICA festival drew to a close with the final concert “Melancholy and Hope” in Flensburg’s packed out St. Johanniskirche. This concert, specially arranged for our loyal Flensburg audience, once again resulted in rapturous applause for our brilliant musicians.
Especially as our newly founded folkBALTICA Youth Ensemble came on stage, it was as though the sun had come up in the late evening St. Johannis. This was because the over twenty young Danish and German people were so brilliant that they really did shine. Pure enjoyment and joie de vivre!
We thank the great musicians from eight countries, the audience of more than 6,000 in Denmark and Germany, the local co-operation partners, the city, the state, local councils, sponsors and the more than seventy volunteers, without whose active assistance it would not have been possible to stage the over 50 events at 33 venues.
We will once again be hosting the Winter Concerts from 10-12 January 2014
The 10th folkBALTICA festival takes place from 7-11 May 2014.
Thank you all, and looking forward to seeing you again next time
